Real Betis – Real Madrid

Real Betis hosts the champion Real Madrid at the Benito Villamarin in a match from the third round of La Liga. The visitors are looking for a first win for the new season, but they have a tough challenge ahead. Let’s preview it.

Real Betis are flawless in the first two rounds of the league – two wins from two games played. So far the new manager Manuel Pellegrini is making a fine impression in Seville. The Chilean coach came back to Spain after a spell in England and there are high hopes about his work from Betis’ fans.

Last week Real Betis recorded their second win for the season. They faced Real Valladolid at home and didn’t face any problems to win. Betis scored both of their goals until the 18th minute. Nabil Fekir opened the score from a penalty kick while William Carvalho made it 2-0.

Real Madrid didn’t have the same luck in their first game. Los Blancos kicked off their La Liga season with a 0-0 draw during the visit to Real Sociedad. The champions tried their best at the Reale Arena, but Sociedad fought back and didn’t allow their opponents to win.

The manager Zinedine Zidane took some interesting decisions for this match. The French tactician left Casemiro on the bench while the young star Martin Odegaard found himself in the starting eleven. In the second half young guns such as Marvin and Sergio Arribas also got some playing time from Zidane.

Because of Real Betis’ being so inspired since the arrival of Manuel Pellegrini, we have high expectations for their game against Real Madrid. Betis are a team which deserves much better than what they managed to do last season. But for Real Madrid it might be a time for a first win for the 2020/21 campaign. It should be a great game to watch.
